Human Resources Privacy Statement
Cameron Patterson & Co (the firm) recognise the importance of privacy and are committed to ensuring the privacy of your information. Our policy for dealing with resumes and any personal information that you disclose to us, in relation to possible career opportunities with the firm, is explained below.
Types of information we collect
The firm collects personal information in the form of resumes and other information provided by the applicant in order to assess the suitability of the applicant for a potential position with the firm.
Some of the types of information we collect are as follows:
- Resumes, including the applicants name and address, contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses, skills and employment history details.
- Academic transcripts and other transcripts relating to various accreditations.
- A minimum of 2 reference checks from previous employers. Referees are nominated by the applicant.
- Other miscellaneous information that is disclosed by the applicant and is included as part of the resume.
- Information collected during the course of the interviewing process such as interview notes and assessment results.
Use and Disclosure of your Personal Information
Personal information provided to the firm by applicants will be used during the course of the recruitment and selection process. The information will often be distributed internally to the relevant authorised Managers that are involved in the particular recruitment activity. The information will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be distributed outside the organisation.
Once the recruitment and selection process is complete the information will be held and stored in a secure location. Resumes and related information of unsuccessful applicants will be kept for a maximum period of six (6) months, after which time it will be shredded, or otherwise identified before we dispose of it.
It is our policy not to sell any personal information.
Quality of Personal Information
Our goal is to take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date. To assist us with this please advise the firm if any of the details you have provided change. Further, if you believe that the information we have about you is not accurate, complete or up to date, contact the firm and all reasonable effort will be made to correct your information.
Personal Information Security
The firm is committed to keeping your personal information secure. We keep hard copy resumes and all related information for unsuccessful applicants in a central secure location.
Access to Personal Information
In most cases you are able to gain access to the personal information that we hold about you. However please note that information relating to unsuccessful applicants is usually only kept for a maximum period of six (6) months. After this period of six months it will be the responsibility of the applicant to send another copy of their details to the firm if they wish to apply for a position with the firm.
